Touch EVERYTHING

Design author Dan Saffer's article about touchscreen interfaces and what the future holds for the computer and technology itself. What he basically says is after learning a few controls and motions your fingers will become your ultimate tool. With devices like the iPhone, the Voyager, and all the other touch screen phones the future is close. The computer mouse and keyboard will one day obsolete.. sad

Simpler is Easier

The design of this fridge looks amazing yet its not the leading feature.. apparently a designer has solved the "water dispensing tube" replacement epidemic thats causing grief to water drinkers around the world. The company Electrolux has teamed up with Brita who has installed a container on the back of the door with a hole to the front. seems to simple to be true..

Two for One 2

Hey just found a quote regarding the one screen split image device that was posted before this, just for a little bit more info..
"The eight-inch Splitview Command display uses a clever masking system to direct light from alternate pixels in different directions, resulting in a two-at-once viewer where the other screen is completely invisible to one viewer."

Two for One

This is pretty spectacular.. Mercedes Benz is on the verge of yet another innovative luxury appliance that they're know for. This device, as you can see in the picture, allows the driver to view one image while the passenger can view something completely different. Not really sure if this is a necessity but with technology like this people will flood to it. One of those things you say wow when you first see it..

Animation Round 1

And so it begins..
I haven't used after effects in quite some time and while I was I'm taking my refresher course on the specifics of the program, the computer froze and I lost everything. Thankfully I really didn't have much but still it always sucks to lose work no matter how much it is. Either way.. at least now I know what I'm doing, AE came right back to me after an hour or so messing around. Plus I'm confident that I'll be able to execute my storyboards the way intended so I'll take the good with the bad.

Air Travel

This is a pretty cool video that monitors air travel around the world in 24 hours.. I know it doesn't sound like anything exciting but the animation is really well done and it looks really stunning..

Free Hand

I think goes on the list of invention we needed ten years ago.. like the cream cheese package design( which is another one of my favorites I've come across this semester) I feel that this should've been discovered already.. we had all the tools to complete this task but the brain power is lacking..

Storyboard

Just completed the storyboards and I have specific ideas about what I plan to do..
The simple video will consist of the two "objects" of my logo fading in and sliding in from both sides to "collide" in the center.
and my text will fall from the top.. I do have little details that will make it more visually pleasing.
The complex video will have the wave part of my logo split up individually and spinning into the center where they will connect with the other logo piece. My text will come from the top again but I'm going to try and have a wave effect on the, you guessed it, the waves.

hopefully I won't run into any complications, keep your finger crossed.

Gotta love the Hemp

If anyone owns a nintendo wii they can appreciate this.. I guess you can value the "energy" saving effort but its very well put together.. really good patchwork with a light stoner undertow.. ahhh gotta love it.

Steaming Aesthetic

I really like this aesthetic / movement called "Dieselpunk" It combines steampunk, lumbering and diesel - burning machines. It has a graphic novel look about it and it also looks like a machine blueprint.
I particularly enjoy the picture in the top right, it has a cool futuristic element about it thats kickass.

Chair Hoodie

Because I rock hoodies all the times I thought this was pretty spectacular..
supposedly it reduces the noise level as the design implies..
Maybe ahead of its time.
